The process of rehabilitating the historic center of Birzeit is part of a holistic vision that incorporates architectural heritage preservation and utilization into the development process. The projects listed here are part of a master plan that has come about as a result of a comprehensive study conducted by the members of the working team that include the Birzeit Municipality, Riwaq center , the Architectural department at Birzeit University and the Rozana Association. The master plan (map) indicates some of the proposed uses of the houses, attics and courtyards. There will be plenty of space for targeted private sector involvement, as well as public and semi public centers.
