Most of Palestine's tourism is based on pilgrimage as believers from all over the world visit the various Christian, Muslim and Jewish holy sites and shrines. 

External: Birzeit is very close to Ramallah and is an important gateway to the northern cities and villages. Additionally, it forms a natural extension for the growth of Ramallah which seems to be surrounded by checkpoints and settlements from the other directions.
